FIELD TRIPS:  Depart Saturday and Sunday at 9am.  

    Saturday, 9/2--Rolling Stones VP Anita Williams will lead a collecting trip to Bear Mountain for pyrite and limonite crystals.  

    Sunday, 9/3-- Dr. Neal Ackerly will lead a historical hiking tour of the Boston Hill mining area. 

SPEAKERS:  

    Saturday 1:30pm:  Historian Bill Cavaliere will provide a look into early mining around the west with talk "Death in the Depths."  
    
    Sunday 1pm:  Paleontologist Rose Fowers will present a slide show and talk regarding her field experience during the mid-1990s excavation of a Late Pleistocene Mastodon—a native "elephant" that lived and died in central Arizona at the end of the last Ice Age.  Cancelled

NEW THIS YEAR:

Pebble Pups Activity Area--BLM educational books, Rock decorating, Mining for Pecos Diamonds, Face painging, a Dinosaur information table and more! 

$1 Wheel of Fortune--$1 per ticket or spin you can win all sorts of cool stuff! Every spin wins at the $1 Wheel of Fortune, but some wins will be extra special.  Each hour we will add a geode from Shadow Hills Rock Shop to the Wheel offerings.  You can also win some interesting mineral and fossil specimens and jewelry, all donated by our members.

Daily Raffle--We are thrilled with the generosity of the local business owners in Silver City and their support of our new Daily Raffle drawings.  The drawings will also include wonderful items donated by our members and Show Vendors.  All the items will be on display in the lobby of the Conference Center, as well as an updated list of available raffle items.

The 38th Annual Gem & Mineral Show is entirely indoors in air-conditioned comfort.
